  • What is Kava? 

Kava is a beverage or extract made from the Piper methysticum plant. In the South Pacific, it's a popular drink that is used in ceremonies for relaxation.

The name "kava" comes from the Polynesian word "awa," which means bitter. Kava affects the brain and other parts of the central nervous system. Chemicals called kavalactones that are found in kava are believed to be responsible for its effects.

  • How do you prepare Kava? 
  1.  Place 1-2 tablespoons of Kava powder in strainer or muslin cloth
  2. Soak the strainer or cloth in 1-2 litres of clean water 
  3. Once desired concentration is reached, remove Kava powder and discard
  4. Stir well before drinking

 

  • Why is Kunani Kava priced and different from others? 

Kunani Kava is grown and harvested and processed all in Tonga from Tofua Island. This means that Kunani Kava is pure in it's form allowing a higher concentration and you can have more to drink per gram.
